The sixth and final painting in The Surrender Collection depicts Moses holding the Ten Commandments with the staff still in his hands. We purposely don’t see his face because we are looking in the same direction as Moses, towards a prosperous, moral future. The tablets upon which the Ten Commandments are written face us, acting as mirrors in which we can see our own reflections.
